About Us
Fire Desire Poi & Staff Community was started by a group of friends that are passionate about Poi in all it's forms. There was no active Poi community in South Africa at the time, and so we decided to create our own and get SA spinning.
What started as a South African based community is quickly growing to international standards.
We always found it a pain to find alot of good information on one website. Its wasn't that the information was not on the web. Rather there is lots of good information scattered inbetween lots of junk all over the internet.
It is our ultimate goal to create to most comprehensive collection of Poi and staff material available on the web. We want to only provide you with the best information we can and so the process will take some time to complete.
With time and the contribution of spinners around the world we are slowly achieving our goal.
Fire Desire Goals/Mission:
Growing Poi in South Africa by:
- Hosting regular Fire Nights
- Hosting regular free workshops
- The Fire Desire School of Fire Arts
- Taking Poi to underprivileged communities.
- Working on introducing Poi to schools
- Free Performances at festivals across South Africa
- Anything to spread the Desire for Fire

- Collect/Create a comprehensive collection of Articles
- Comprehensive Tutorial Section for all levels that is well structured.
- To find and post only the best articles and video's available online
- Create an Easy to navigate, fun & interactive community.

- Doing things differentially, because we just love poi.
