Terms of Hire

Payment & Booking Fee:

  • To confirm a booking, the client must pay at least 50% of the invoice upfront. Bookings are not confirmed until we receive the minimum booking fee of 50%.
  • When making a booking within 7 days of the event, we require 100% payment of the invoice in order to confirm your booking.
  • Please use your invoice number as a reference number on your payment. Failure to do this may result in delays in confirming your booking or mis-allocation of your payment.
  • Please e-mail us Proof of Payment to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Once the booking fee is paid, the client accepts the Fire Desire Entertainment Terms of Hire.
  • Please note that once we have invoiced you, we ask our performers to hold the date for you for 48 hours only. If you do not pay your deposit within 48 hours after invoicing, we cannot guarantee the availability of your selected performers.
  • We only accept payments by Cash or EFT.

Cancellation fees:

  • The above booking fee is non-refundable should the client choose to cancel, or change, all or part of the booking, for any reason whatsoever after we have confirmed the booking. This is because once we commit to your event, our performers start turning away all other work for that time slot.
  • Once you have paid us a deposit we commit 100% to your event and we expect the same from you.

Delays:

  • We do expect some delays with big events. We plan for this and we try to be flexible. However, we do eventually have to draw the line. Your event may not be the only event that our performers are working that day.
  • If your event is running more than an hour late we may charge a penalty fee of R500 per dancer. If the schedule runs more than 1.5 hours late, we may elect to cut short the performance time or, in worst case, cancel the performance. The booking fee in this case is non-refundable.

Liability:

  • We follow very strict fire safety procedures that insure the performances are extremely safe. If the performance area does not meet our requirements as stated in our fire safety documentation we may have no choice but to cancel the performance. The booking fee in this case is also non-refundable.
  • Keeping your guests safe is a top priority. Our performers cannot be held liable for any damage or injury that might occur during performances, for any reason whatsoever.
  • There are no sick days in our industry. We will do everything in our power to ensure that the show goes on. Should our performer(s) get so sick that they absolutely cannot make it to your event, their car bursts into flames on the way to the event, or anything else keeps us from performing as booked, we will do everything in our power to replace the performer(s). Failing that, we will refund you for any entertainment that did not happen, and offer you a free fire performance for a future date.

Weather:

  • For outdoor functions: In the event of adverse weather conditions, depending on the severity, it is the client’s responsibility to provide a suitable alternative venue. If a suitable alternative venue cannot be provided then the fee will remain payable in full. We cannot be held liable for bad weather.

Refreshments & Food:

  • Should your booking fall over a meal-time, such as dinner, it is common curtesy in our line of work that performers be provided with a meal and refreshments while they are at your event. Even if your event is short where they will not be there long enough to enjoy the meal, we would expect our artists to be provided with the curtesy of some water or other soft drinks. Performing is thirsty work.

Third Parties:

  • Clients who are booking on behalf of a third party (agents, event managers etc.) will be responsible for ensuring that the terms and conditions stated here have been passed on to their own clients.
